Terms of Service

1. Agreement

Using patrol.hellenic.dev or Patrol Cloud means you accept these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you are confirming that you may bind it. If you do not accept them, do not create an account. Hellenic Development provides the service.

2. The library is not this

The Patrol library on GitHub is licensed BSD-3-Clause and that license alone governs your use of it. You may run it, modify it and ship it in a commercial product with no account here and no payment. Nothing in these terms limits what that license allows.

3. Your account

An account is created by signing in with GitHub. You are responsible for what happens under it, including anything done with an ingest key you issued. Keys are shown once: store them the way you store any other secret, and revoke a key in the console the moment you suspect it leaked. Tell us if you find unauthorised use.

One person may hold one account. Do not resell access, share a login, or use the service to provide the same service to someone else.

4. Plans, limits and payment

Each plan sets the events a month, the retention window, the number of projects and destinations and the largest batch we accept. The current numbers are on thepricing page and are enforced by the API. The Free plan needs no payment method.

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through Stripe and renew until you cancel. Cancel any time from the console; the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for and then drops to Free, which shortens your retention window and can delete events older than it allows. We can change prices with 30 days notice, and a change never applies to a period you already paid for. Amounts already charged are not refunded except where the law requires it.

5. What you send us

Your events stay yours. You grant us only the permission needed to run the service: store them, show them back to you, and deliver them to the destinations you configured. You are responsible for what is in them, including having the right to send us any personal data they carry, and for not sending anything unlawful.

We may suspend an account that attacks the service, tries to break out of its limits by creating accounts, or sends content that puts us in legal trouble. Where we can, we write to you first.

6. Availability

The service is provided as it is. We do not promise an uptime figure, and we do not offer one at these prices. Patrol is designed so an outage here is survivable: your producer keeps buffering, your own destinations keep working, and a rejected batch is reported to your OnError callback rather than silently lost. Plan for our downtime the way you plan for any other dependency.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect or consequential loss arising from the use of this website or the service. Our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to what you paid us in that period. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded.

8. Ending it

Delete your account in the console at any time and we delete the events under it. We may end an account for a serious or repeated breach of these terms, and will refund the unused part of a paid period unless the breach was deliberate. Export what you need before you go; after deletion we cannot get it back.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top is the last change, and a material change is announced in the console before it takes effect. Carrying on with the service after a change means you accept it. Nothing here takes away a protection your local consumer law gives you.

10. Governing law

European Union law governs these terms. Hellenic Development is established in Greece, so where EU law leaves a question to a member state, Greek law answers it, and the courts of Athens hear a dispute we cannot settle between us. If you are a consumer, this does not move you out of the courts of the country you live in, and it does not take away any right your own law gives you.
